ALD launches advertorials for creative businesses

As a close collaborator with the ALD, Collaborative Creations had the honour of featuring in the association's first ever advertorial article, which will now be a marketing option available to creative businesses looking to reach an audience of Lighting Designers. Check out our article below:

For those of you who don’t know me (lucky you), I’m Tom Wilkes, a Director of the ALD and Co-Founder of our agency Collaborative Creations.

Collaborative Creations is an industry-focused creative business development agency, working with businesses of all sizes to grow their presence in the UK events market.

Our office in London Waterloo is a central hub for industry professionals, available free-of-charge to PLASA and ALD members looking for a space to hot desk, grab a coffee and catch up on the latest industry gossip. You can also make use of our Vectorworks and Disguise computer stations (let us know in advance). We offer dedicated desk space and meeting room rental in the heart of London, right in between the NT and the two Vics.

We’re excited to be featuring in the first Focus advertorial feature. Advertorial content allows you to discuss the issues and trends that are important to your audience while also promoting your products and services. Best of both worlds!

At Collaborative Creations, our aim is to enable events businesses to grow through strong content and business development. In the post-lockdown world it’s more important than ever to have a carefully thought-through strategy for promoting and growing your business (or, if you’re freelance, your personal brand).

Being visible, being relevant and being willing to shout about your strengths as individuals and as businesses may well make all the difference when it comes to winning new work as the industry begins to reopen (in some form or another).

An advertorial enables us to promote some of the fantastic businesses and products that we’ve been representing in the UK, not to mention the exciting things that we’ve been getting up to as a business.

Many of you reading this will be familiar with FollowMe, the remote follow spot software solution. What you might not be so familiar with are some of the fun new capabilities of the product in its current iteration. It is compatible with any moving light, providing flexibility for your design at a price friendly to your lighting budget. If you’ve not had a chance to play with the system within the last year, you’re more than welcome to visit our office in London Waterloo to discover more about what it can do.

We work closely alongside our friends at Fineline Lighting, who provide event lighting, rigging, video and full production to events ranging from conferences and launches to gigs and festivals (including some event called...Glastonbury?).

Collaborative Creations is the UK representative of LEDBlade, a durable, lightweight and pixel-mappable LEDStrip, with custom curved options available too. They’re a great value alternative to some of the more well-known products in the UK market.

We’re pleased to be working with 10 Out Of 10 Productions, the one-stop-shop for lighting hire, production and sales, based in London and Bedfordshire. Fun fact about Managing Director Paul Need: he was the 45th member of the ALD, so when we say you’re getting dedication and experience with the 10/10 team, you know we mean it.

We should also mention, briefly, that we’ve been working alongside the UK’s GLP team and their fearless leader, the shy and retiring Simon Barrett. If you’d like to learn more about their fantastic product range, give us a shout.

That’s all for now, if you’re interested in booking an advertorial feature of your very own, contact companies@ald.org.uk, and if you’d like to learn more about our content and business development services then email hello@creativebd.co.uk.
